This character introduction sequence introduces a story that developed pretty organically from assignments in my Cinematic Storytelling course at RISD. The main character, Gemma, is a Brooklynite with a prophesied responsibility to protect the city from evil mystical creatures as "the Guardian", but she is far more interested in just getting her daughter to school than she is in saving the world.
