Nook: Autonomous Vehicle Design

Playtest
The playtest was successful. For the most part, kids relaxed and played with all the tree pockets, the animals and bugs I made, and were easily rearranging all the components to customize their nook. Parents liked the variety of textures and the types of holes and enclosures I had sewn. They said it would be good for siblings who could use all the different options.

Also, parents commented that it suited children of different ages and those exhibiting different personality traits, temperaments, and energy levels. The shyer kids or kids that were alone would play introspectively, and groups of kids would create their pretend play stories where they lived in the forest, pretended they were animals, etc.

Eventually, as more kids joined, they became restless. In bigger groups they joined in on some aggressive play and storytelling, sometimes jumping up and down or throwing trees and rocks into the air.
