For my final Dobby Collection I decided to base it on frogs and sea snails because they were the creatures that I admired when I was young. What fascinated me the most about them and inspired me along this collection were their vibrant color combinations, their soft look and sleek hand, as well as the beautiful and bold organic patterns of different scales that emerged from their surfaces. In order to represent these aspects, I used a variety of contrasting materials. For certain samples, I used thin polyester thread as the weft to represent the soft sleek surface of the sea slugs and contrasted them with fuzzier yarns that represented the hairs on their antennas. Thus, Creating this dobby collection inspired by these characteristics allowed me to capture the essence of those animals.
