For this Silkscreen Collection I was inspired by my trip to Cienfuegos in Cuba. I was fascinated by the extensive pure natural landscapes that I saw when I was there. What intrigued me the most was the layering of the leafs and the unexpected shapes that appeared when standing underneath them when the light would shine through. I used some of Luzio Pozzi’s paintings as a source of inspiration for the layering of the different motifs and the line quality within my print. The interaction between the different  forms and colors was achieved by the layering of different opacities.Additionally, The color choice for this continuous pattern was inspired by the vibrant colors that decorated the buildings in Cuba, specifically in Habana, that gave a sense of life to the city. This place really impacted me and I wanted to honor it by making this print. All patterns were hand-drawn, digitally modified and hand-printed.
