Fern - a soap holder

The design brief aimed at redesigning the form of a soap holder taking inspiration fromĀ theĀ nature. The form here is inspired fromĀ a plant 'Victoria Amazonica'Ā .

Victoria Amazonica

Victoria amazonicaĀ is a species of flowering plant, the largest of theĀ NymphaeaceaeĀ family of water lilies. The species has very large leaves, up to 3 m in diameter, that ļ¬‚oat on the water's surface on a submerged stalk, 7ā€“8 m in length.Ā Ā

The purpose of this soap holder is concentrated on providing both aesthetically pleasingĀ and multifunctional piece of product, and on the other side, it wants to introduce visual interpretation of natural form into the interior of our habitant.
Ā

- Visually it should resemble the LeafĀ itself, most common and distinctive form in nature. The resemblance is achieved by using matching colors. Also, the shape of the holder can be identified with natural elements on another visual level, since the design of its base which holds the soap are veins and small branches of leaf. Using green transparent acrylic, as product materialĀ can give the impression of sitting in the lush grass. In short ā€“ it should bring back nature in people's everyday habitation.
