Illustration Roundup: January - December 2017
Hola Picture people! Not sure how this got lost in the draft folder, but better late than never:) I've been working in house for the past 12 months, and with a little less urgency to get new assignments, my precious online presence has taken quite a hit. Before sharing any new work, I'll let these little birdies out of the nest and see where they land.
New Yorker: Happiness Lamp
This was a fun one. Sometimes all the work is pretty much done for you by the article, and that was definitely the case with this. You can read Sarah Hutto's piece here. I like any assignment where I have an excuse to draw a messy room. I have a lot of personal experience on where a half eaten bowl of cereal can end up in a an apartment. Thank you to Deanna Donegan for the assignment!
USAA Magazine: Car Buyers Guide
I don't know how well it comes across, but the idea here was to compare a new website for buying used cars to a dating app. (Probably didn't need to explain that actually.) Believe it or not, this is about as close as I can get to aping the look of a app interface. I think I spent about as much time just adjusting font weight and getting everything on a grid as I did drawing those damn cars. Thanks to Kaitlyn Browne for the assignment!
Onwards Magazine: Investors Guide
