It is difficult to find a beach without any evidence of intrusion made by man. In these images, what would normally be a lovely beachscape is now obstructed by a pipe, a jetty, a building, or even an old sunken ship; forgotten entities slowly decaying in the sea. Yet the photographs are still beautiful, as if these objects have been a part of the scenery since the beginning of time.
So now we are forced to ask ourselves some questions: What is nature? What is beauty? Must we stress absolute preservation or can we ultimately accept the gradual integration of humankind's mark in the environment?
