The purpose of this project was to create a box that would custom-fit a ceramic mug. The parameters of the box were that it needed to be self-encased, meaning in its production absolutely no glue, tape, staples, or twine could be used to hold it together. The design itself would need to have slits and folds so that the pieces can fold into and under other pieces, yet remain sturdy. A very key factor, since the box also required a die-cut to showcase the product. In the end, the mug had to lay at a slight angle inside the box as a piece of cardboard was holding it in place.
