Brief: To brand and promote Channapatna toys.
Channaptna toys are hand-made wooden lacquered toys. The initial process included field research and mind mapping to come up with a name for the brand.
The name Woodlacq is indicative of the two major ingredients of Channapatna toys - Wood and Lacquer. The logo illustrates the playfulness and smooth round edges of the toys. The toy train is one of Channapatna’s signature toys.

My heart was set on the name ‘WOODLACQ’. The name Woodlacq clearly potrays the two major ingredients of Channapatna toys - wood and lacquer. These toys have no sharp edges. The toys used in the logos are few of their highest sold products like rattlers, toy train, cup and ball, etc. Channapatna Toys look like they are pieces of candies because of their glaze and colour.
The absence of straight and rigid lines makes the logo look playful and childish. The toy train is the signature of Channapatna Toys. The roundity of the logo suggest these toys are safe for kids. The colours used in the logo are the basic or the core colours of Channapatna toys, the brown of wood, red and yellow of the vegetable dyes.

Inspired from the core ingredient of Channapatna Toys - Wood Channapatna toys are also known to be edible toys as they are harmless to a child and so are all the by-products of a tree. This display unit is 6’ high and the products are displayed as per the average height of the customers.
