Cristal Baschet

  • This instrument is a variation on the Cristal Baschet, developed in 1952 by Bernard and François Baschet. To produce sound the player dips their fingers into the water bowl in the center, then lightly strokes the glass rods. The glass rods resonate according to the length of the metal rods to which they are attached, and the sound is then amplified by the maple sounding board and aluminum resonator. The instrument's radial form makes it perfect for multiple players.
