I created a flat pattern of wire which could be folded into a squirrel. This approach greatly simplified the process because once I had the pattern design all I had to do was print the pattern, trace it with wire and fold it into shape.

This was the concept drawing of how the wire would fold before I had even started experimenting. I would say I wasn't too far off!
