Rationale
HPE needs to revamp its ERP to accelerate quality hires, but how to motivate its already- busy employees to give serious thought to whom they might refer? Nothing’s more motivating that a contest with travel as its Grand Prize. Introducing Formula ERP, a special ERP accelerator that dangles a pretty covetable carrot: an all-expenses-paid trip to see the HPE Formula E cars race in an beautiful, international location, plus VIP perks galore.

This ERP program brings HPE’s revolutionary technology to life in an incredible venue, so the excitement of the opportunity is practically palpable to the employees. With an easy social media tie-in and a weighted points system, it’s the perfect way to motivate, educate, and spur both engagement and ongoing interest from new hires and existing employees, alike.


Program Description
The program will culminate in a trip to a Formula E race city for an all-expenses-paid trip for the top 10 ERP participants. The number-one referrer (racer), plus the top 3 in each of the 3 regions, make up the top 10 that get invited to the Grand Prize trip.

The trip would be to the host city for one of the races. The recipients would also get tickets to the race and VIP access to the DS Virgin Race team paddock to see HPE’s groundbreaking technology in use. They’d get to meet the drivers and the team and have their pictures taken with the cars. A catered meal and viewing of the race is part of the trip, and of course, hotel accommodations are included.

In an effort to promote competition for the grand prize, HPE will award points to employees who sign up for the program and connect their social accounts. They can gain additional points by sharing the ERP out to their network.

The campaign would kick off as a weeklong lunchtime event featuring a guest chef preparing regional specialties from the destination—but only those who have opted to link and share the program to their social networks can gain entry.


How It Works
A special points system will accelerate rewards as people perform set tasks. We’d create custom badges and rankings that racers would access via a dashboard, so that each person could see their progress and points and both their worldwide and regional rankings. They can earn points by:

Points for connecting their social accounts
Points for making referrals
Points for 10th referral
Points for referral getting an interviewPoints for referral getting hired 

These points are calculated toward winning the grand prize, but may also be used to purchase gift cards and other items in an online store.


New Hires
New hires will be given a small number of points on day 1 of their job at HPE and told all about the program. At their 90-day review, they will be awarded double points for all the activities they complete.
