PERFORMING THE CONCEPT
Much of this installation was about "feeling" like a part of the piece. The idea was to explore in what ways nature and the built environment can exist together. The imagery was created using inspiration from everyday patterns and man-made structures. By painting this one becomes part of the system, and can begin to coexist, one overlapping another, almost mimicking the systems of nature.
WHY BLACKLIGHT?
Under blacklight the user cannot clearly see themselves. The only things that are visible are their creations. This way they can lose themselves in the piece and focus on the movement and patterns. It is also a really interesting, and fun medium that encourages and engages the user.
