It's almost time for the next project in this class. That means more Illustrations for my portfolio. Goody goody goody. 

Okay so what's the deal? Well... here's a moodboard. 

In essence, I gotta design a vinyl album for the Hyper Light Drifter OST. 

Yeah. One already exists, sure.. But y'know, I could make this a spot illustration, and use it for all sorts of other non-school project related things, too! 

So here's where I'm at- 

In the scenario where some people won't know what Hyper Light Drifter is...

It's basically an abstract-dystopian story about a guy who's fighting the physical manifestation of his own terminal illness. The tiny guy is the protagonist struggling with terminal illness, and the big abstract diamond-y creature is the representation of his illness itself. 

Both the game and the artwork of the game make lots of use of intensely saturated magenta and cyan- I think using this design element for the highlights and color will help bring this composition closer to fitting the game and its futuristic atmosphere. 

Lastly, a quick look at what I'm planning to do with the vinyl itself!

Have you ever seen one of those super cool vinyls that has stuff printed on the outside, or the vinyl is clear, or colored? 

I think it'd be freaking awesome to do the same thing for this specific project. So... I made a digital vinyl preview and figured out how to "print" an image on it with digital magic.
