Overwhelm

Communication is one of the core of humanity. Socializing with friends, family and colleagues happens every day and in this technology-savvy world, methods of communications vary more than ever. But some people have problems communicating and delivering their meaning. When they reach the point of delivery, they stopped because of fear and anxiety. They forget to turn meaning into words. They forget the word to describe the meaning they are trying to articulate. As a result, miss-interpretation could happen and fear changes their behavior.

My work draws from personal and other people’s experiences. I use my work with photography as another way to communicate my ideas and feelings, where my words fail. I want to show people that fear and anxiety has a way to challenge people’s confidence, and stop them from action. My work will focus on the feeling, how emotion and anxiety hinders people from being understood and miss-interpreted. The work draws inspiration from collage artist such as John Stezaker & Louis Dourado. Photo-montages are made digitally from my own images and public domain images using an image editing software. I use familiar images and icons as a means to symbolize the Idea of fear and anxiety.
