1981 Bottle Labels

1981 Bottle Labels design
The 1981 is a locally distilled spirit label by Far East Distillery (FED). The products of 1981 include Gin, Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Whisky, Bourbon. Each spirit has a colour that represents it and the label colours coincides with the colours of the bottle caps. The 1981 spirits are carried all around Singapore in bars such as SmooBar, Chillax and more than 100 well known bars in Singapore.

Design Concept
The initial label was transparent and it created alot of issues for FED (eg: not attractive enough, bubbles forming when the labels were afixed onto the bottles).

The line above the 1981 logo is curved while the line at the bottom is completely straight. However, when the label is placed onto the bottle, an optical illusion is created where both the lines look curved and it places focus on the logo “1981”.

The background colour of the word 1981 is different from the main label background colour because it represents that 1981 is a label that stands out from the world. The horizontal lines that intersect the “curved lines” represents the connection between the world and 1981.
