The Royal Ballet's 'Onegin'

The first two scenes were repainted over the top of older painted cloths with Rowan Plinston, under instruction from the designer Jurgen Rose. The other three backdrops are new cloths painted with Rowan and Susanna Burton for The Royal Ballet’s production of Onegin, towards the end of 2012. The materials painted on were a mixture of canvas, muslin, hessian and sharkstooth, scenic and square gauze the average size being 9m drop and 18m wide.
