Seashell ring

This is a school project for Budai Rajziskola (an art school in Budapest, Hungary) where I had to recreate a natural structure as a ring.
I chose the seashell's shape because it has a very typical but interesting form.

I experimented with a lot of shapes and ratios to find the perfect balance between  minimalism and  naturalism.

When I finished modeling I carved the shape from jewerly wax and continued the progress with lost wax casting.
After the casting process was completed from brass I gave it a finish of manual polishing.
Finally, to have a more vibrant look I had it silver plated.
Thank you for watching!
