The lines of shoes.

I spent a week, on and off, in the Fire Department of Bandung with a couple of my friends as we try to make a photo essay for our photography class. Hanging out with the strong men who fights fire, here are them when they are in their off days.

During my time we also set up a photo session with one of the fire fighter, as we wanted to show how it is in the day of a firemen. We had Nasrul, one of the younger fire fighter, to walk us through his day. He's definitely the clown in the Fire Department, making jokes throughout and just being funny in general.

It was a quiet week for the Fire Department, no fire going on anywhere. Most of them are just hanging out with a cup of coffee and a pack of cigarettes, chatting and being happy. It was a good week for the people of Bandung but not us. We didn't get any action shots, so we decided to end it with some coffee and gorengan.

(We spent a week beforehand running around trying to get a letter of permission from the government's office, which was very complicated!)
