In the Middle Ages the practice of creating homunculi – artificially produced human beings – was quite popular with alchemists. I got interested in what the creature, which was born as a result of such an experiment, feels. Fear, anger, despair – what exactly occupied the newly born monster’s mind? Which instincts did IT have? The animated short film I've made follows the story of a creature which while having been born with external imperfections still longed for virtue, art, and dancing. Nevertheless, its creators did not care for the makings of its inner world. They purely cared about its appearance, as they were seeking the blueprint of an ideal human being.
