Non-Geographical Map: Barelang Experience Illustration

A non-geographical map illustration piece based on a new location or experience: my road trip to Batam-Rempang-Galang islands via Barelang Bridge.
This piece focuses on the lady i saw at the beach, who was peacefully roasting corn as if she didn’t have any worries and lived just fine even though she might not have much. The scene itself reminded me about gratefulness, the quote “life, in the end, will be okay”, and made me feel so many warm things at once. Thus i make this specific scene to be the focus point of my three days road trip to three huge islands (that are symbolised with three major parts of the corn). Iconic buildings and sceneries are also drawn inside the corn to recall my memories of the places i visited. The overall vibe and colours used are to translate the mood of a bright sunny day during vacation when all we do is exploring, be inspired, and living the moment.
