Este proyecto se inspiró en el libro "Ciudades Invisibles" (Calvino, 1997), en el que las ciudades son descritas a través de distintas novelas cortas. Nuestro objetivo era revelar algo invisible de la ciudad, en concreto las emociones, para crear una representación artística sobre la interacción entre el "cuerpo vívido" y el entorno urbano en forma de instalación.
Medimos la respuesta afectiva de diferentes individuos a traves de una ruta localizada en el centro de la ciudad de Edimburgo, utilizando un aparato EEG. Los datos fueron analizados e interpretados para la visualización y sonification del recorrido, dando como resultado una pieza audiovisual que conecta imágenes y formas en emociones y transforma lo inaudible en audible.
This project was inspired by the book Invisible Cities (Calvino, 1997), in which a city is described through several short histories as it was a different place on each one. Our aim was to reveal something invisible -in our case emotions during a walk- to create an artistic representation of the interaction between the “lived body” and the urban environment in the form of an installation.
We measured the affective response of different experimentee for a route through the Edinburgh city center using an EEG device. The data was merged and analyzed for the visualization and sonification of the walk reinterpretation, resulting in an audiovisual piece that links images and shapes to emotions and that translates the inaudible into the audible.
