Engraving Block
This is a BIg project made by hand some pices were bought because of quality needed but soon i`ll be making them, always taking my time to do the best job i can... So let go... This is a engraving block used all over the word by jewellers or engravers to angrave pices or do other kinds of job whe presision is needed
Well after some rought grinding i've started some finer work whit a habilis file yeh it took a while to do this but a well made work some times need to be made calmly and carefully
After finnishing this step i decide to make the basic holes in the sphere. the face was cut by hand... yeh i know big work the pice that u took out will be used later i'll let u know ....

well as u can see the face is still rought but its already possible to see the neodimium magnets i've put there , yep thats a magnetic engraving ball as far as i know the first one made ... well i had some doubts about the strenght but 20 neodimium magnet shuld do the work, here the sanding is taking place already in the grain 400, keep on going ...
well starting to sand the face the body is already in the finer grain (1200) starting in the face with the 120 grain, Yup iron sanding = ugly dirty hand and arm and face and so on ...
Nothing as some time in the polishing to make the beauty of metal appear, just startung right the polish taking place in the left the finer grinding.
Well everything polished in the workung bench  wasnt doing nothing this time it was just for the photograph but lets keep going
well this metal pice there is what i took out of the ball to make the face, I've screwed and glued it in a engravers wise this is the basic pice of the engravers ball as this pice was bought i dont have any production photographs and as the base was only drilled and polished i dont belive its necessary to put those steps in her, that white donut shape is the base of the ball soon i'll be doing one in wood, Cedar to be presize...
This is the engravers wise in the metal base nothing spetacular here this pice u can buy ready to use.
Well now the ball is ready and polished, it shuldnt be so polished its just for the photographs in the last photograph it will be with the final surface finish.
Well here is th efinnish ball and the wise not the final base yet but soon, an just 4 those that didnt belive... check it out the next picture
Just for the records no glue, no pins, no screws just magnetic force, thats the under side of the wise
Part one of the project done, now moving to the second step, the wooden base for the ball and the ring holder and the wire cutter.
Well unfortunately i forget to take pictures of the process of the wooden base but it was made by me it has a triple pig leather on the top to keep the ball of speening freely it spins but u have to force it and thats the objective, under a rubber pice to minimise the noise, in the left the ring holder base and in the right the wire cutter tool the process of those are the same as the engravers wise i bought the pice and fasten it to the base to use in the magnectic ball, owh those pins holding the square sheet in the wise iv've sculpted them aswell in stainless steel ill be doing some others and later ill post a photo whit them all, those balls whit the iron sticks are my engraving tools, unfortunately i didn't lear how to make those ... yet...
Just another picture of the ball, by the way the surface is not polished as you can see it has been brushed,

thanks for reading this project hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoy making it

Exelence is not only about quality, its about idea, project, design, beauty, i really try to put the best of me in this tool as a jeweler i belive that jewels are made by the artist the tool only helps but whith a pair of plier its possible to make a jewel if u have the potencial, and i've always wanted to know:

WHEN DID TOOLS STOP BEEING PICES OF ART BEAUTY AND DESIRE TO BE ONLY TOOLS ??
