This is a series of "Nipple Rings" I made for my first Jewelry and Metalsmithing class at RISD. I took Molten Metal over Wintersession 2017. For my final project, I chose to do life casting of nipples to making cast rings. I created alginate molds of each nipple and then used those to recreate wax replicas that I later turned into rings and cast using the lost wax casting method. Each ring is made from a different alloy I created.
This is a double finger ring, or "Brass Nipple" is 78% brass and 22% ancient bronze alloy measuring 9.5 dwts.
This ring is a 70% ancient bronze and 30% brass alloy weighing 1.8 dwts.
This nipple ring is made of a 70% ancient bronze and 30% brass alloy weighing 1.8 dwts.
This wrap nipple ring is made of a 67.75% silver and 32.25% copper alloy weighing 2.5 dwts.
This "Brass Nipple" is a 80% ancient bronze and 20% copper alloy weighing 6.9 dwts.
