PERFORMANCE "REENACTING TRAUMA"

I injected chip into my hand. My number is: 616093900389034 and I'm in animal database here: https://www.safe-animal.eu

First part of the performance was showing the audience, shrouded in complete darkness for 6 minutes of a movie, where they can see the implantation of a microchip into my left hand and the process of registering myself in an animal database as a cat and as an owner.

Still in the darkness, only with a headlight, I proceeded to do a live translation, from polish to english, of my intimate text, about why I did such an action.

Then I scanned my chip number through chip-reader and asked people to come to the table if they wished to know more.

The meaning of the implantation was very symbolic to me and no, I can not open doors or pay through bank account with my microchip. It's only a number under my skin, an invisible metaphor.

In my relationships I usually felt entangled to be the care seeker but one experience left me with a different mindset. I felt extremely responsible taking care of a dying creature, trying to help a little cat to survive.

Afterwards I decided that I need a talisman to remember that I am capable of undertaking both roles - the one who is responsible and caring and the one who receives the care - sometimes wild or unaware but with good instincts.

PERFORMANCE "WHAT'S YOUR FUTURE?" - Lenzburg, Schwitzerland

I decided to repeat the action with the microchip again.

I showed people the illusion of implantation but the needle did not cut my skin - the microchip, went from the needle, into my hand and then into the glass container. Then I showed the viewers Freud's words which inspired me.

It makes me feel jubilant that, each time I use this theme in my performance, it is a kind of mystery - no one knows the whole story, unusual as it is, and it piques their curiosity making them want to ask questions to find out the details.
