This semester began with explorations in human habitat by attempting to design a living space, which was comfortable, efficient and self sustainable. The point of the project was to explore the idea of space for living without the urban, civic infrastructure that cities provide and are largely invisible and therefore, do not fall into our consciousness when we design or envision inhabitation.

    The prime generators of design were-

 (1)- Understanding usage of space (design to maximize usage by having multifunctional spaces and hence minimize physical space- ‘smart’ space?),

 (2)- Understanding of the energy systems in a building (design to use minimum energy- that to from natural resources and create zero waste situation by design); and

 (3)- To be innovative by minimizing dependency on external energy usage through ‘smart’ design by going off the grid.
