Education Degree Programs at the University of Northern

A Colorado education professional, Kandy Steel spent over a decade as the principal of Prairie Middle School in the Cherry Creek School District in Denver and then spent four years in Commerce City as Adams County's deputy superintendent. Kandy Steel now serves as a mentor and liaison for the University of Northern Colorado's Center for Urban Education.

Through its Center for Urban Education, the University of Norther n Colorado offers degree programs for teachers interested in early childhood education, elementary education, and special education. These programs result in licensure in the state of Colorado.

Students in any of the university's four-year education programs have the opportunity to learn from experienced teachers while earning their degrees. Each year of their studies, these students attend classrooms for children in kindergarten through high school as part of an apprenticeship program of education.
