Loved creating this illustration. This was a commission that allowed a lot of creative freedom. The client was after a girl, a headdress and liked the colour blue. I came up with quite a few different concept drawings in different poses and details and we both decided on this one. This illustration was actually the largest one I've done to date (original size is A2) and really enjoyed working on this size as there is more room for detail - especially when you introduce watercolours in to it. 

Below is a quick sketch of my original concept. This is normally how most of my work starts out. Really messy and very basic. The final product was actually very close to this sketch. Quite often I will get ideas or a better 'feeling' of the drawing and make changes along the way.
