These illustrations were made as part of a pitch for my graduation film in October 2016.

 One of my closest friend back in Rome has a really sweet parakeet. When I went to his house over the summer, one day I thought: what if this parakeet is the main protagonist or even the only witness of a crime scene?

I Imagined a detective arriving on the crime scene, noticing that the parakeet is the only witness, and willing to interrogate it in order to understand who the culprit is, considering that he cannot find any other proof. 

One way in which the story could have been developed was by having the audience believing that the parakeet knows the answer and wants to tell it, but instead (when we reach the climax of the animation) we discover that he doesn’t understand anything. O maybe he does and knows the answer… 

Eventually, this story became the starting point for my final film.
