The Designer Accordion was the final for our History of Graphic Design course. Students were each randomly assigned a famous designer, and create an Accoridan book including their work, the designer who have influenced them, and the designers influenced by them. We were only allowed to use paper.
For my cover, I was inspired by Lou Dorfsman's gastrotypographicalassemblage, a massive typographical masterpiece. I incorporated CBS didot, Dorfsman's invention for CBS, and used Karla as a substitute for CBS sans because it was too difficult to find. The process of following Lou's footsteps, one of the first corporate identity designers, was very inspiring and enjoyable.
