this pedal is a two-in-one: on the right side is a "flatline compressor", which is a popular simple diy circuit. the left side is a true-bypass clone of a boss sg-1 slow gear, which is an envelope controlled volume swell circuit.
i named this pedal after an album that was to be released by a band i used to play bass in, in which i used the slow gear setting on a bass multi-fx unit to create.. whale sounds..
this is the first pedal i made with a pcb that i etched myself, so i was very glad when it worked!
