Daedalus Myth Poster

The focus of this poster is the ancient Greek myth of Deadalus and Icarus. In short, Deadalus the inventor and his son Icarus get trapped in a maze that Deadalus had built for King Minos. When they find their way out of the maze, they find that they are trapped on an island. Deadalus skillfully builds two sets of wings for them to escape, using feathers and wax. He warns his son to fly carefully, not too low or too high, so that the feathers will not be damaged by the ocean's mist or the sun's heat. Icarus, being too impatient, does not listen to his father. He flies too close to the sun, and ends up falling to his death as the sun melted the wax holding the feathers together. The lesson to be learned from this story is balance.
