BACKGROUND:
For this project, I was tasked with re-branding and packaging the Voyage Pillow by Sondre Travel. The pillow is being introduced to Kickstarter as a new product, and I wanted to give the campaign a boost. After much research and some creative decision making, I decided to make the Voyage Pillow brand into a high end luxury brand with clean and simple packaging. As far as the campaign goes, there were two main goals to be completed:
1. Design the packaging  (labeling, surface treatments, etc.) for a minimum of 3 physical three-dimensional forms (box, bag, bottle, point-of-purchase, etc.)
2. Design at least 1 additional digital or two-dimensional print component to support the brand identity (web interface, motion graphic concept, brochure, poster, etc.)

RESEARCH:
As far as research goes, I looked into what the Voyage Pillow was all about, and what things I could really push to the customers. I did end up keeping some of the main ideas they already had, such as the slogan and the tagline. For the most part I focused on taking what they had, and making it better. Sort of like a facelift for the company and the merchandise (the pillow). In addition to the change in brand identity, I actually wanted to create an entirely new font for the project as well as create a real version of the pillow I would be packaging.
Sondre Travel’s slogan: “Travel Better." Voyage Pillow tagline: “The most compact, versatile, and comfortable travel pillow on earth.”

Below are sketches of the Voyage pillow box I was working on. I really wanted a fun reveal of the product with a matchbox style box. I decided on a navy pattern inside to really make a striking contrast between  the white outside and color inside. My first renditions had the idea of holes (within the typeface) in the sides of the box to be used as pull tabs. Later this was modified.
DELIVERABLES:
1. Fully printed two part box with foiled stripe and pillow info on the back.
2. Fully printed fourteen page booklet with pictures explaining the ways to use the Voyage Pillow.
3. Handmade pillow complete with tag of the company’s logo on it, handstitched into the seam. 
4. Website interface for Sondre Travel, featuring the Voyage Pillow on the homepage.
