PARKIT SHARED PARKING MOBILE APP
UX Design and concept for a shared parking mobile app specialised for shared houses with private parking spaces. The Idea is to create a group that allows the residents to use each other's parking space when available.
The screens attached demonstrate the onboarding for the app and a summary for how it works.
Research
To begin, I needed to find existing options. There are quite a few apps that combine navigation abilities with finding parking spots, some had regular parking spaces around town, while others used SDK for instant online parking options.
In my research, I focused on the outskirts, on shared buildings with 10 or over floors, more than 30 households with private parking.
I found there was a basic need for sharing parking spots. While most parking spots are available while the residents at work, there is always someone who may need to use their spot.
Instead of using a casual whatsapp group, I created a simple to use system to arrange the parking spaces, furthermore, to make it worthwhile, adding a billing option.
Personas
After creating a survey, I took on myself to interview a few personas for better precision.
A short desciption of one:
Mor, 34 yrs. Married with 1 child, live is Yavne, shared building ( 12 floors ) 48 households.
"I have one parking spot I have to share with my husband, a fact that makes it quite frustrating at times.
I currently work at home and have clients coming over during the day with no place to park, only a 10 minute walk...
Most of the parking spaces are available in mornings but usually for only 2-3 hours and with constant time changes".
Mor, like many others could really use such an application as Parkit.

How it works?
Once in the desired group, it is very easy to fill in your parking space availability.
A very clean and clear design for the process in order to make it as short and easy as possible.
Order
When you are on the ordering side, the interface is very similar, though you have more options to choose your parking space ( once you choose, you receive the details concerning the parking space.
