Inspired by my father's struggle with a terminal illness, "Bile" was the process of patterning a tailored garment informed by the physical effects of biliary cancer on my father's body as a coping mechanism for my family's pain. Using older gentlemen and dandies as style inspiration, and reworking elements of traditional craft such as quilting and hand stitching, this work catalogues the spread of the disease, starting from the bile duct, metastasizing to the lungs, requiring a chemo port, causing lymph node swelling of the right leg, "chemo brain," and more, these garments were made to process a long term grief.  My love and appreciation for David Guy, the most gentle soul and a wonderful model.  Photography courtesy of Matt Francis.
