Mograph Mentor Classical Animation Course

I took a classical animation course taught by Henrique Barone of Giant Ant and ran by Mograph Mentor. This course covered the 12 principles of animation and had targeted assignments for practising these techniques.

Assignment One

The first assignment was to animate a shape along a path with slow and fast movements. The emphasis was on:
- Straight ahead action and pose to pose
- Arc
- Timing
- Easing
- Staging
- Squash and stretch

Once the rough pass was complete I did the inbetweening and clean up.
Assignment Two

For the second assignment we needed to animate a spherical character. We animated a ball because it creates a foundation and basis for more complex animations. The focus was on:
- Solid drawing
- Anticipation
- Appeal
- Follow through and overlapping actions
- Secondary action
- Exaggeration
Final Assignment

In the final assignment we had to animate a character executing multiple movements within a scene. This piece put all 12 animation principles into practice.
