Nepal Earthquake, 2015.

I have visited Nepal on the 30th of April after the massive earthquake has struck the beautiful Himalayan nation.I have never witnessed an earthquake so closely and thus it was an unforgettable experience.

The aftermath of the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal and adjoining areas on 25th April,2015 has left a huge impact with deaths and destruction. The death toll crossed 4,000 and was likely to even hit 10,000, according to the country's Prime Minister. Thousands of victims were left hopeless losing their loved ones and were left with no shelter.

A beautiful nation turned into debris and heaps of bricks after nature’s furious impact. Witnessing everything around was tragic and heart sobbing but the Nepali people stood firm on their grounds with strength and courage, facing the disaster and helping their fellow country mate in such scarcity all around them. Places of worship and historical importance like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pathan Square, Lalitpur, Dharahara were widely devastated and broken. Villages like Kakani, Gokhra, Sindhpawl Chawk were left with no electricity, water or any means of communication.

Nepal’s loss after the disaster can never be measured in units. The Nepal army helped hand in hand with the citizens even they had their own loss accounted. The deaths and destruction were massive. The people around were scared of an incoming threat of nature in future as suggested by the forecast.

Being in such a situation, hearing the news and airy views, sobs and cries humming, seeing corpses getting burnt incessantly, I had an experience worth forgetting and remembering as well.
