Vintage or Instagram

Instagram is an iPhone app that allows users to take a photo, apply a vintage-y filter, and then share it on social networks. The cumulative effect of these “faux-tos” always makes us wonder if Occupy Wall Street happened in the 80′s or if Barack Obama was the 39th President instead of Jimmy Carter.

Chelsea and I decided to make an online game to see if users can tell the difference between vintage photos or Instagram photos. The player is served up five random images that are either actual vintage photos, or from the Instagram service. It's tons of fun, try it for yourself: www.vintageorinstagram.com
The introductory splash screen.
The eponymous title functions as the button to classify the picture.
Along with the score, the five randomly-selected game images are displayed.  A prominent call to action button encourages the user to try again.
Some nerdy details: built with HTML5 and CSS3 (jazzed up with some Javascript and jQuery magic). All of our coding was written with Espresso, and WordPress handles the backend.
