Taste began as an idea for surfacing information from expert crowds- beginning with wine connoisseurs. A wine drinker’s tastes are polled and gathered in an effort to align the user with a handful of select experts. These wine experts aid their followers by answering questions, recommending wines and pairings, as well as written articles pertaining to wine.Taste’s system will classify users to aid in retrieving relevant data. Users will progress through the system, advancing to wine connoisseur gaining their own followers and/or endorsements. While this platform will work for a variety of verticals, Taste is to be first a wine site, with other verticals to be added later.Brought on to do Information Architecture, Pixels & Bits created site maps, user flows, wireframes, persona interviews, and an in depth competitive analysis. These documents, along with initial visual designs, create the foundation for this new company.
