COFFEE TABLE
Electronic media have transformed the practice of design in the recent past. Architects, industrial and interior designers rely more and more on the computer as a tool. Not only do we see a change in methods and techniques, but it also impinges on style. 3D softwares are used for the production of plans, for realistic renderings, walk-through animations, virtual models, rapid prototyping and reversed engineering.

The core purpose of this project was to design a nature inspired table with the use of a new 3D computer software; Rhinoceros, in addition to making a prototype to scale. Thus, with the collaboration of Charlotte and Marianne, we decided to make a coffee table where the visual appearance and structural make up of a lily pad was the core inspiration. As a final product, this coffee table is composed of two separate elements that can be combined to either make one central coffee table, two side tables and/or a working table.
