For this project, we had to choose a recipe to create a poster. We could only use pieces of type to create this, but we could use a variety of different typefaces to do so. We were allowed to manipulate the text by resizing, reshaping, stretching, creating masks and so on. I used the words "strawberries" and "cheesecake," which are also the two words that make up the title of the recipe. The color palette that was used were made up of the colors from the finished cheesecake strawberries. There were 3 color that I chose, and I then used lightened variations of each color to show contrast. The background shapes were made from over-sized and reshaped C's and S's. The typeface that was used for the title was something I wanted to link to New York, because cheesecake is popular dessert there, and also something that showed a somewhat elegant and decadent style to it, like the way strawberries are shown with a glass of champagne in a romantic setting. I enjoyed this project, as well as other Typography projects, and would like to continue working on projects that have a lot of type incorporated into them.
