Soft switch: going beyond ON/OFF
In soft switch interface, the material quality drives to provide users new sensual experience and control of interfaced elements. The project focus on the tactile quality of materials that are close to our body elasticity. The elasticity gives the right feedback for subtle control of light combined with the precision of digital control. The switch can be programmed to have a timed dimming system. As the material bounces back, the light goes off slowly in the room.
Concept of continuous control interaction by using soft material
The exploration was taken into a product design concept as anGelic
Switch working "wizard of oz" prototypes. The wire goes to electronics to turn on and off LED. Material was Silly Putty that has a conductive quality.
