“Ignition” is a concept which explores the symbolic, dialectic and dichotomous relationship of matchsticks, sandpaper and fire. If fire means for us passion, creation and pain, a matchbox represents potential, inspiration, temptation, curiosity. Its two main ingredients, which are able to produce fire, matchsticks and striker are usually completely separate objects. Yet, according to their primary purpose, they are meaningful only together. This relationship and attraction was tackled through the creation of two garments and a handbag which showed the choreographic domino effect curiosity can have. The pathway starts with exploration and excitement - fire lights up from the index finger, reaches the heart area and curls up in a conflict until it reaches the head, where a rational reflection puts it out and brings it to a final resolution.
