In this photo series I have explored light refraction.  Specifically, my photographs capture the physics behind the refraction or bending of light when passed through glass. I placed individual vases, ranging in shape and height, on a black table that sat against white horizontal window blinds backlight with soft natural light. Each vase was placed in the same position on the table. Over a two-hour time period, I captured and recorded the varying effects of optical density and its ability to curve light with a Canon EOS 6D digital camera, locked into position on a tripod, using an F stop of 5.6. As the sun set, I varied the shutter speed to maintain the quality of light.
