West Side Story theatre poster design, I designed the poster so that the Virgin Mary represents the character 'Maria' in West Side Story because both are pure and innocent, but the chaos and violence of the gangs in the story is represented by the grunge and graffiti which she is surrounded by. The Virgin Mary was drawn using coloured pencil, with her tattoo designs also drawn in pencil, and the graffiti designs created in pen and edited on Illustrator, this was all digitally edited and put together in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
