Design for Shih Yung-Chun’s 2015 Collection of Works, “Game Manual”
In the Chinese-speaking world, most novelettes are designed vertically – only theoretical works are published with horizontal layout. Because Shih’s works are visually strong in narrative, I hoped to guide readers into a story, into this world he created, both fantastic yet realistic. As most of the target audience would be reading it in Chinese, I used vertical typesetting for both Chinese and English text.
