The Rochor Complex is a public housing estate constructed in 1977. Built on a triangular plot of land, the complex has a unique arrangement and was subsequently given its now iconic colourful paintwork in 1994.
The housing complex has become a major landmark that many has come to associate Rochor with (along with beancurd, Sim Lim Shopping Centre and the nearby Sungei Road Thieves Market) thus it was with sadness that the complex will be making way for the North-South Corridor from 2016 on-wards.
The piece is a tribute to this iconic Singaporean landmark.
