Fully fashioned knitted pants with rib variations and a knitted neck piece
Machine Knitting II - Double bed knitting machine
100% Wool
Growing up in Korea, I was expected to have feminine qualities and appearance as a female.
I recently realized that Korean society’s expectations regarding femininity have been limiting me from my own desire or natural tendency. While growing up, I somewhat adapted myself to the expectations and limitation, but also learned how to accept my non-feminine side. My personal experience on femininity and the idea that women should not sit with their legs open even if it is uncomfortable are depicted in the pants and the neck piece. The knitted garments could seem like they are limiting and constraining body movements. However, the natural property of rib and wide leg pants still allow for movements and stretches.
