Fracture: Gap Year Student Centre

FRACTURE
The Gap Year Student Center project was driven by the concept of incorporating nature in the program spaces to create a healthy and productive working environment. Many studies have proven that specific forms of nature are beneficial to people. Considering the  disconnect between nature and urban environments, the building fractures into three different ice bergs that allow for sunlight to penetrate the building. The fracture moments are the focal point of the building and establish a relationship between the exterior and the interior organization for the program by determining where the green spaces are located. The green spaces that allow for people to engage with nature are located behind the solid walls and receive sunlight at a specific time through the sides. There are four major green spaces in the building that are connected to a specific  program function that allows users to have a beneficial connection to nature in terms of the use of the space.
