Costume Design for International Salsa and Bachata Dancers.

Costume 1- A costume that feels like your own skin and also enhances your dance moves keeping in mind the dance form.
Costume 2- A costume inspired by a purple Lily. Which also has a stage presence along with fluidity.

Costume 1 for Megha Khatri
The garment is divided into two parts, the inner leotard and the sheer outer layer to give it a skin like feel. A bustle is used to add back fullness as Salsa and Bachata are dance forms with a lot of hip movements. This helps accentuate the movements on stage.
Materials: Outer layer- 4-way Stretch Soft Tulle with shimmer.
Inner Layer- 4-way Polyester Lycra
Surface Ornamentation:
Embroidery- Hand embroidered floral motifs with Sequins and Swarovski crystals in the center as well as evenly spread all over the costume.
Bustle- Polyester Tulle, Swarovski Crystals and feathers.
Belt- Swarovski Crystals
Costume 2 for Megha Khatri and Sanjay MJ
Megha Khatri- A well fitted customised leotard is used to enhance the dance techniques and movements. The fabric is hand dip dyed to represent a purple lily along with layers of fabric representing the petals on the hip. This also adds fluidity to each move. Additional fringes are used on the torso to further enhance the body movement.
Material: 4-way Polyester Lycra and Sequin Polyester
Surface Ornamentation:
Flowers- Lazer cut petals assembled into a flower with Swarovski Crystal in the centre.
Layers of sequin Polyester fabric used to create volume on the hip.
Sanjay MJ- A loose fitted, cowl neck overlaping shirt is used for ease of movement and to further add fuidity to the dance moves. This is paired with white stretch trousers to complete the look!
